The first time we met,
When I saw your beautiful face,
Again, in my heart,
Raged that gaping lonely space.

Not a need for power or fulfilment,
Nor the need for a beautiful wife,
It was the need for an angel,
And the longing sliced through me like a knife.

I had never experienced true love,
And the thought scared me.
Because I thought if you knew,
It would never be.

But never did I know you felt the same longing,
Not for an angel, just for me.
Never in my life have I spoken these words before now.

This is a poem, Lizi, about the thoughts racing through my head when we met. I mean every last word, and when I found out you liked me, it was the happiest moment in my life. I would love to have you in my life forever, and I will always be by your side.

I wrote this poem because I hadn’t done anything new in a while, and Lizi is the best inspiration there is for me.
